HAPPY PLANTING!

Front of house before we did anything... May 2008

Semi shady tree area in the front left. To the right of the tree are some over grown roses that will be cut back late fall so that they will be full and healthy for the next seasons bloom.

Beginning the planting of the "bones" of the flower bed after alot of weeding prior

The main plants put into place

What a difference the placement of perennials and annuals can make! Lots of texture and color. These beds are yellows, reds and oranges. Will have coordinating crocus come up in the spring and glads planted in the back for height and texture.

The completed (well almost) front of the house. We will be adding a 'runway' type effect down the pathway to the door with some low maintenace no trim perennials and intersperse them with some of the owners favorite iris and other blooming bulbs for year around color.

First view of the tree area after planting. We pulled the bare shrubs out in back and skirted the fir tress up just a bit revealing a nice woodsy shade area which really opened up the bed.

Another view of the tree area. This area is blues, purples, pinks and whites.

Beautiful maple in full foliage with the flowerbed completed. The perennials will be full and lush next year. Perennials have a tendancy for the first year to sleep, second creep and third year explode! Wonderful to watch everything come together and have a happy client.

First pic of the back yard area.. large horse shoe shaped bedding area with LOTS of berry vines and morning glories

Corner area to the left with a beautiful japanese maple that needs some focus

Same area after the clean up...no more berries!

Same corner with everything trimmed and neat. Also planted an Australian Mint bush for some evergreen color during the winter when the maple go dormant

Center of the garden area with the gate. We removed the 5 unkept bushes on each side of the gate.

Left side corner with another japanese maple

Area just tot he right of the gate (both sides mirrored each other) put in a nice pieris, ceanothus and a variety of ground covers.

To the left of the gate plants were mirror as from the right and we moved one small purple rhodie and replaced it with one that brings much needed color and will fill in the gap quite nicely as it grows.

This particular client chose to do some of the yard work themselves which they will finish up over the remaining month. For the back we basically weeded, removed berry vines and replaced just a few shrubs with better behaving ones with color and lots of scent.
